Headlight restoration is the process of restoring aged lenses that have become discolored or dull due the original factory UV protective coating degrading primarily due to UV light and other environmental factors such as road debris impact (stones, sand, etc.) rain, and exposure to caustic chemicals.
If left untreated the polycarbonate lens will eventually develop small surface cracks, a condition referred to as crazing.
Eventually the polycarbonate lens will discolor through the thickness of the lens at which point it is irreparable.
The effectiveness of the headlight in terms of light output can be significantly reduced.
Using a variety of sanding and polishing techniques we can restore your lenses giving you savings of hundreds or thousands against replacing the units.
Once restored the final step is to protect and restore that UV protection to help with the longevity of your headlight.
The options we offer are as follows:
1. Restoration and protection with ceramic coating. This protection would require you to add additional coats of a product with UV inhibitor each year. £90
2. Restoration and protection with Premiumshield self healing Paint Protection Film. This will provide a physical barrier against stonechips and UV degradation for upto 10 years. £120
